About the Role

We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer to be at the heart of our R&D team based in our Dalgety Bay office. You will be working with the latest codec and encryption technologies central to the transport of secure video over an enterprise network and will be focused on video play back.  You will use your experience and knowledge to give day to day technical direction to a small team of Engineers. Our products are used by some of the world's best known brands to view and manipulate their video content all over the world.

Our development is based on innovation, from handling high bitrate, encrypted, UHD satellite streams to custom UX on the latest smart TVs for our international client base, the opportunities are endless. Football, basketball, banks, governments, performing arts, airports, universities, TV networks, hotels, cruise ships, casinos, racecourses, hospitals… the list goes on! Your code will be used everywhere with VITEC.

About You

You will have software engineering experience and will have achieved a technical degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics or a related discipline.

You will be involved in:

• Daily coding in C/C++/C# on windows/Mac OS
• Working in an agile environment with Jira, GitLab
• Initial product concept discussions to implementation and completion
• Coordinating the technical approach for the product with team lead and product managers
• Mentoring junior members of the team

Skills

Knowledge or experience in the following:

• Demonstrate previous experience of coding in  .Net
• Familiarity with windows desktop and/or Mac OS programming
• Exposure to Linux
• Exposure to agile development
• An interest in video technology such as codecs is a plus
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
• Ability to discuss and present work to the rest of the team
• An understanding of networking technologies and protocols
